Printing issues can be caused by various reasons.  This article explains a few of the more common issues regarding printing.

The most common issue regarding printing is that the default printer is the wrong printer.  The default printer is the printer that prints when you click on the print icon in many applications.  To select a printer you would need to click on file>Print> and then select a printer from the drop down menu.  To change your default printer do the following.

If printing jobs are being sent and there is no error message but nothing is printing.  Power off the printer, wait 30 seconds, power back on.  If this solved the issue jobs should start printing.

Click on START (Windows Logo on task bar) .  Then click on  Devices and Printers in Win7.  Click on Settings then Printers and Faxes in WinXP. Right click on the printer you want to make default and then select "Set as Default".

Another common issue is that iPrint is not working properly.  iPrint is Liberty Union's printing service.  All print jobs are forwarded to iPrint and then to the printer.  Printers are installed on workstations via the network.  If the printer did not install, you will not be able to print.  To see if your printer is installed please do the following.

Click on START (Windows Logo on task bar) .  Then click on  Devices and Printers in Win7.  Click on Settings then Printers and Faxes in WinXP.  If you do not see your printer listed then it is not installed.  You will need to create a ticket for this issue.  If the printer is listed make sure it is set as your default printer.  See above on how to set a printer as default.

In some case an Office document won't print because Microsoft Office has not been activated.  This is the case when you can print other documents and files but cannot print an Office document such as Word.  In this case you will need to create a ticket so that a LU Technician can activate it for you.

If you are trying to print from Microsoft Office, ie WORD, and it states a printer is not installed do the following.

Check to see if you have a printer installed

Click on start (windows logo)>Settings> Printers and Faxes.  If a printer is listed then you have a printer installed and you need to run the Office Repair in ZenWorks Applications.  You may need to right click on the icon and select "Verify" if you have already ran it once.
